About ME
Michael Sears from Indianapolis, IN is a passionate Audio Engineer, Percussionist, and Triathlete.
Originally a percussionist, Michael spent time at Butler University crafting his musical ability. Before attending college he had traveled and performed with numerous ensembles and events including with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and at the WGI World Championships. Having worked across many levels of education and performance, Michael gained an ability to relate and excel no matter who or what he was working with. These experiences were a catalyst for Michael's love of learning and problem solving.
He desired the emotional-historical content that music provided, whilst longing for the structure and precision of science. Michael joined the two; successfully logging more than 800 hours of production time between The IU School of Music and The Media School. From the intimate studio recordings of the GRAMMY© award-winning Pacifica Quartet to Head Engineering the world premiere of the opera Anne Frank by Shulamit Ran. Michael made the most of his time at Indiana University.
Captivated by the power, influence, and complexity of motion picture as well as live television productions. He furthered his interest, in 2022, Michael interned as part of the Engineering Team at WISH-TV in Indianapolis, IN. This experience fostered his love for learning as everyday he was confronted with new and interesting challenges to overcome. Whilst there, Michael aided with many productions including the EMMY© award-winning show Life!Style!Live! and local coverage of the Indianapolis 500.
In his free time Michael is a competitive cyclist and triathlete. He loves to read and perform music.
In 2023, Michael earned a Bachelors of Science in Audio Engineering and Sound Production with a Concentration in Visual Media Production from the Indiana University Jacobs School Of Music.
